Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is reported to have fathered a third child with Shivon Zilis, an executive at one of his other companies, Neuralink, with whom he fathered twins in 2022, Bloomberg reports.
The child, whose name was not released, is reported to have been born earlier this year. Musk and Zilis share twins reportedly conceived through in vitro fertilization.
Zilis has had professional ties to Musk since at least April 2016, when she became an advisor to OpenAl, a non-profit research laboratory which the billionaire co-founded prior to a fallout, according to her LinkedIn. Zilis has since worked for both Tesla and Neuralink dating back to May 2017 and currently serves as director of operations for the neurotechnology company, as well as having previously served as a board member at OpenAl from 2020 to 2023.
The report of the twins' birth came weeks after Musk shared an X post on May 24, 2022, stating "USA birth rate has been below min sustainable levels for ~50 years."
Musk, the second richest man in the world with an estimated net worth of $213.1 billion, has fathered at least 12 children, including six in the past five years. Neuralink is a neurotechnology company that has produced an implantable brain-computer interface, which was recently approved for testing on a second patient by the Food and Drug Administration.
