To wrap up the end of 2022, Google released its results of the top trending searches of the past year for major cities across the country, including New Orleans. While some results may not be shocking, others offer an interesting look at what people around the New Orleans area were looking for in 2022.
What should come as no surprise is the top search for music genre, jazz, given the city's history with the genre. The top trending animal, however, is much more unique with the rock fish, with New Orleans being the only city in the country to have the aquatic creature as it trop trending animal.. Additionally, the city's top recipe for the past year was charoset, a dish with fruit, nuts and spices typically enjoyed during Passover.
A couple of the region's top searches also involved gas prices, with New Orleanians looking to find the most affordable prices near them.
